The Weather in Sicily
- Sicily has many micro-climates. Weather and weather fluctuations depend on where you are which can render weather charts misleading.
- Sicily is blessed with a lot of sun. In fact, Catania and Palermo are among the sunniest places in Europe
- The coastal temperatures in Sicily are Mediterranean and only infrequently fall below 50 degrees on average. The south can be a little warmer than the north.
- December, January, February and March are the colder months with dependable rain, but often for short periods. The sun often warms the day.
- The summers are dry and can be hot. July and August temperature can climb to 85-95 degrees, with little to no rain, but some humidity.
- Rainy months are the winter ones, with January receiving the most. Those January rains help Spring begin blooming and the days begin warming in February.
- March is unpredictable, while April trends toward sunshine and away from rain.
- May to October sees a little or no rain and aside from the very hot July and August days, the weather is quite pleasant.
